Citizen’s work with transit data boosts transparency in Tyler | Texas Watchdog
Local governments, take note: The city of Tyler has posted online maps and extensive data on its bus routes, after a concerned open government advocate brought the matter to officials’ attention.
The city posted the data after Christopher Groskopf, a news application developer for the Chicago Tribune and mass transit enthusiast, had made it public on his website Hack Tyler, which documents his work and includes an index of data sources in Tyler and Smith County. Groskopf is moving to Tyler later this month.
