The City of Texarkana, Texas will be participating in the Homebuyer EXPO offered by Housing Authority of Texarkana, Texas (HATT) on Saturday June 25, 2011 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The Homebuyer Expo is a one day event offered FREE to prospective homebuyers. This year’s Expo, held during National Homeownership Month, will be packed with seminars and exhibitors’ booths. Participating exhibitors will include lenders, realtors, home inspectors, credit counselors, non-profit assistance programs, and others. The Expo Workshop will feature information on debt solutions, importance of budgeting, and resources to qualify for down payment assistance and subsidies. Attendees will also be eligible for prize drawings throughout the Workshop.
Specifically, the City of Texarkana, Texas will be presenting information on funding that was awarded from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to assist first time homebuyers with down payment and/or closing costs assistance of up to $20,000.00 per household for low to moderate income families.
Area citizens interested in purchasing their first home are encouraged to attend the Homebuyer Expo Workshop, Saturday June 25, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. located at Texas High School Science and Technology Center, 4001 Summerhill Rd, Texarkana, Texas 75503.
