Texarkana, Texas Chief Financial Officer Charlie Bassett announced that the City’s May sales tax for March, 2011 sales was $1,384,418.10 – up by 7.95% over May, 2010. “Year-to-date we are up 4.63% compared with the same period last year,” Bassett advised. “In dollars, we are up $101,988.80 for the month and $409,569.30 year-to-date through May. The 2011 budget year-to-date was $8,933,333 and we have collected $9,249,647, so we are up $316,314 over budget to date.”
May sales tax data was posted a bit late by the Comptroller, but it was definitely another good month for Texarkana, Texas.
